Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: 22nd April 2026
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Padiham Airport Transfers provides private hire vehicle services in the United Kingdom. By making a booking, you agree to these Terms and to any additional booking information displayed at the time of reservation.
1. Company Details
Padiham Airport Transfers is a private hire operator licensed by Pendle Borough Council under applicable UK private hire licensing laws. Our licensed office address is Nelson Business Centre, Cross Street, Nelson BB9 7NN, and our license number is PHO0121.
2. Contract for the Journey
When we accept your booking, a contract is formed between you and Padiham Airport Transfers for the provision of the private hire booking and transportation service. The driver assigned to your journey acts on our behalf and is not the contracting party with you for the booking.
We may subcontract or allocate the journey to one of our licensed drivers or approved partner vehicles where permitted by law and licensing conditions.
3. Booking Conditions
All bookings are subject to availability, driver allocation, and compliance with applicable licensing requirements. A booking is only confirmed once we send written confirmation by email, SMS, app notification, or another method we use for confirmations.
You must provide accurate details, including pickup address, destination, date, time, passenger count, and any luggage or accessibility requirements. We are not responsible for delays, failed pickups, or refusal of service caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by you.
4. Fares and Additional Charges
Fares are quoted based on the details provided at the time of booking. Additional charges may apply for waiting time, extra stops, parking, tolls, congestion charges, airport fees, vehicle cleaning, or damage caused during the hire.
Where a fixed fare has been quoted, it applies only to the journey details originally booked. Changes to route, passenger count, pickup time, destination, or waiting time may result in a revised fare.
5. Payment
Payment must be made in full in accordance with the payment method and timing shown during booking or on our invoice. We may require prepayment, card authorization, or a deposit before travel is provided.
If payment is declined, reversed, or not received, we may cancel the booking or suspend future services until the outstanding amount is paid.
6. Cancellations and No-Shows
If you wish to cancel, please notify us as soon as possible. Cancellation charges may apply depending on how close to the scheduled pickup time the cancellation is made.
If you are not present at the agreed pickup point at the scheduled time, and we have not agreed otherwise, the booking may be treated as a no-show and charged accordingly. Waiting-time charges may apply where the driver is required to wait beyond any grace period we provide.
7. Delays and Service Disruption
We will use reasonable care and skill to provide the booked journey, but we are not responsible for delays caused by traffic, road closures, weather conditions, accidents, police directions, breakdowns, or other events outside our reasonable control.
If a disruption occurs, we may adjust the route, reschedule, substitute another suitable vehicle, or cancel the booking where necessary for safety or legal compliance.
8. Passenger Conduct
Passengers must behave safely and respectfully at all times. We may refuse or end the journey if any passenger is abusive, threatening, intoxicated, violent, or otherwise poses a risk to the driver, vehicle, or other passengers.
Smoking, vaping, illegal drugs, and the carriage of dangerous or prohibited items are not permitted in our vehicles unless explicitly allowed by law and by us.
9. Children and Safety
Passengers are responsible for ensuring that children travel in accordance with applicable UK law, including the use of child seats or restraints where required. If you need a child seat or booster seat, you must request it at the time of booking, and availability cannot be guaranteed unless confirmed by us in writing.
Where a suitable restraint is not available or cannot legally be used, we may refuse carriage if the journey would not be lawful or safe.
10. Luggage and Belongings
You are responsible for your personal belongings at all times. We do not accept liability for loss, theft, or damage to items left in the vehicle, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
Luggage is carried subject to vehicle capacity and safe loading limits. We may refuse items that are oversized, hazardous, dirty, or likely to damage the vehicle.
11. Driver and Vehicle Standards
All journeys are carried out using appropriately licensed private hire drivers and licensed vehicles, where required by applicable law and local licensing conditions.
We may change the assigned driver or vehicle at short notice if needed for operational, safety, or licensing reasons. Such a change does not entitle you to cancel unless required by law.
12. Refusal of Service
We reserve the right to refuse, suspend, or cancel any booking where:
The booking details are false, incomplete, or misleading.
The passenger behaves in an unsafe, abusive, or unlawful manner.
Payment is not made or is disputed.
The requested journey would breach licensing, insurance, or road traffic requirements.
The vehicle would be used beyond its legal seating capacity or safe loading limit.
13. Liability
We will be responsible for losses caused by our negligence or breach of contract, subject to the limits allowed by law. However, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as missed flights, missed appointments, loss of profit, or business interruption unless required by law.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.
14. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with any part of our service, please contact us as soon as possible with your booking reference and details of the issue. We will review complaints in a fair and timely manner.
If your complaint relates to safety, driver conduct, or licensing issues, you may also contact the relevant licensing authority at Pendle Borough Council.
15. Privacy and Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with applicable UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Full details of how we collect, use, and store your data are set out in our Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, operating practices, or legal requirements. The version published on our website at the time of booking will normally apply unless stated otherwise.
17. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, or where applicable, the laws of Scotland or Northern Ireland depending on the location of the service and the parties involved.
